The Master and the Master Blaster.

India will approach John Wright to come back. Tom Moody will be in great demand from world over. With Pawar & Vengsarkar at the helm and Sachin in the midst of controversy, I will not be surprised if a Mumbaikar like Chandrakanth Pandit or even Sunny (if he has the time) take over.

As Kiran More rightly asked, where is the performance?.
After putting in 17 years, if you need a coach to get the scoreboard moving, what can we say?.
If you had problems with the coach, what were you doing so long?.
If you want people to spare a thought for your emotions now, where were your thoughts when you expected the government to pay for the excise duty to import your Ferrari? You were elevated to a special status in India, deservedly. But there is an amount of responsibility that comes along, which you have failed to fulfill. If you had stayed silent, we would have liked you for your humility and modesty, inspite of the failure. You spoke and the timing, here too, is bad.

Finally a few words of wisdom - It is easy to be graceful in success, people elevate you to higher levels praising your modesty. But it is hard to be graceful during failure and that seperates you from the greatness that you are equated with.

Hmm ... I do not know if I can agree with your ideas completely.
Indian cricket is in shambles right now and in my opinion, Greg Chappell is the main cause. There are other reasons but he is the main factor.
Right from the time he was appointed he has been trying to do things through the media. He's not been forthcoming but seemed eager to present a clean public picture of himself.
He is very political - even in his interviews, if you note, he takes care to phrase his words to emphasize that he is not totally at fault when things go wrong.
But in all the different controversies that have marred Indian cricket in the recent past, the one common thread is Chappell and that is no coincidence.
Now, in Sachin's case, I assume he was posed the question as to what he thinks about Chappell's report (which mysteriously got out to the press before its submission to BCCI!). If he'd taken the high road and offered no comment, then it could be construed as admission of guilt. If not, just as he did now, he's looking like a whiner.
So he was damned in either case.
It is the case of another super star (eventually) leaving the sport on a low. There have been plenty before him and he wont be the last one too.
This again is not limited to Cricket ... we have seen guys like Michael Jordan and Brett Favre - who is still playing and wont quit!

raghu,
Sachin is desperate to be the captain. He has the backing of players, no doubt. But he is not dealing things with grace. That is all I can say. I don't like Chappell either. But singling him out for India's failures at WC is ridiculous.

Ajay,
attending a few interviews. Dont want to be googlable.

Guardian Unlimited, the online edition of the UK’s prestigious Guardian newspaper, has made a note of two interesting theories posted on blogs. (i) “En mana oonjal”, a US-based blog posted its readers’ views on Woolmer’s death. Rajesh Raghupati, a Texas-based software engineer, gave four options - one of them saying that it was a Pakistani Presidential order. He also opined that Woolmer’s death would be the biggest international cover-up, next only to Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination.
