Delhi Ganesh is the best actor in Tamil Cinema. Followed by Gemini Ganesan. The most over-rated Ganesan is Sivaji. While the other two Ganesans had a hero's profile, Delhi donned only support roles. His entry into the industry was late. His career has spanned over 25 years beginning with Pasi in 1979. He played Munian and made a mark for himself in that Shoba blockbuster. Who can forget his roles since then in movies like Sindhu Bairavi - Gurumurthy , Nayagan - Iyer, MMKR - Mani Iyer and Avvai Shanmugi - Sethurama Iyer. His roles have ranged from a poor rickshaw man to a Bhramin cook and everything in between. Even being cast as a Bhramin in many of his movies, Delhi has shown utmost variety in each outing. He has also taken to Chinna Thirai and is living each of his characters everyday on TV. Whether it is comedy or serious roles, he appears to play them with effortless ease. And that is probably one reason why he goes unnoticed inspite of awesome performances. He has also played villain roles. Although it didn't suit him very well. Today, I enjoyed watching Avvai Shanmugi yet again on Sun TV.
